4 The Contract
Davis Solorante stared at his phone as he hung up the call. He glanced at the file on his desk and shook his head.
Initially, he had wanted to do this alone but he had seen the news of the damage done to Daniel. Though the damage was minimal she had managed to inflict it.
David had been meticulously planning how to begin his revenge plans when Anna showed up and now she has unlocked a way for him to implement his revenge plans.
“Are you sure about this, Sir?”
Davis focused his attention on his bodyguard and nodded.
“Now would be a perfect time to introduce myself to the family and begin my revenge plans,” Davis replied.
“Alright. I've set a meeting with Miss Davinch, she's on her way to the place right now,” Paul said.
“We’ll leave in ten minutes. In the meantime, get me more files on the details of Anna and Daniel’s marriage.”
Paul left and returned a few minutes later with another file. He had done detailed research on the entire family.
Davis glanced through the file and nodded, Anna has what it takes to bring them down, especially Daniel.
He picked up his tuxedo and wore it then he handed Paul the car keys.
“Grab the documents we’ll be needing, let’s go.”

Anna and Lily stood by the car as she glanced at the restaurant. It was a five-star restaurant, the place where she was supposed to meet with Davis for the meeting.
“Are you sure about this, Anna?” Lily asked.
Anna nodded her head, “Let’s go find out what he has to say at least.”
Lily sighed. She wasn't against her friend getting revenge on the Monroes but she didn't trust the new guy.
She didn't want it to be an elaborate ruse made by Daniel to try and hurt Anna again so she needed to watch out for her friend.
Anna walked into the restaurant with Lily beside her as they went to the table that was reserved for them but that was when they noticed that the entire restaurant was empty.
“Apologies if it makes you concerned but I had to make sure no one was around to overhear our conversation,” a voice said behind them.
Anna saw Davis walk up to them with the same man from the day when they had met. She still felt his dominating aura and shuddered slightly.
“As long as you don't plan on murdering us we’re good,” she said.
“There are worse things than death, Anna,” Davis said.
Lily raised a brow and glared at him, “Are you threatening my friend?”
“Why would I do that? We are potential business partners,” Davis smirked.
“How did you know that Daniel would release a statement?” Anna asked, changing the conversation to the matters at hand.
“That’s what the Monroes do. You can't destroy them from outside, besides that move wasn't even enough to dent them,” Davis replied.
Anna frowned, “But the media was all over the place.”
“Honey, William controls the media,” Davis pointed out.
Anna groaned as she realized that he was right. The Monroe family were one of the richest family in Chicago which was why they hated scandal.
“But it was a scandal,” Anna said.
Davis nodded, “You did good, Anna. That's actually what drew me to you but to take them down that isn't enough.”
“Why do you even want to take them down so much?” Anna asked.
Anna noticed the slight flicker in Davis's eyes but it was gone immediately, that was the first time she had seen emotions in Davis.
“That information is classified and not clear for you to hear it yet,” Davis replied.
Anna laughed, “You want me to help you and you already know that I was hurt by them. Why can't you give me that?”
Davis sighed, “That’s on a need-to-know basis. When I’m certain I can trust you.”
Anna stared at him, her lips slightly parted in shock.
“You don't trust me but you want me to help you ruin the Monroe family?”
“Point of correction, I don't need your help, I’m extending help to you because I've seen that you can achieve your goal if we join forces together,” Davis replied.
Lily scoffed, “Okay, I don't know who you are but you can't talk to my friend that way. We don't even need your help again.”
“My name is Davis Solorante,” he said smugly.
Lily’s eyes widened as she shook her head, “That’s not true. No one has ever seen Davis Solorante before. He's not even on any social media.”
“Well, you're lucky then because you're seeing him in the flesh,” he said.
Lily tapped Anna under the table and gave her a sign.
“Please excuse us for a moment,” Anna said as they left.
“Sir, do you think revealing yourself to her is a good thing to do?” Paul asked.
“Don’t worry, Paul. She was bound to know eventually.”
Lily dragged Anna to the restroom. Anna groaned and frowned.
“What is wrong? Why are you dragging me like that?” Anna asked.
“That man, if he's Davis Solorante, he's the richest man in Chicago, but no one has ever seen him before. He's even richer than the Monroes,” Lily replied.
Anna blinked. She suddenly recalled a few weeks ago when Daniel was talking about how to get in touch with Solorante so he could invest in their business.
“Does this mean he will be able to help me get my revenge?” Anna asked.
Lily nodded, “If he is who he says he is, he's your best shot at getting back at Daniel.”
“Alright, there's only one way to find out.”
Anna marched out of the bathroom with Lily as she sat down on her seat.
“So, have you decided?” Davis asked.
“How do you intend to get revenge and infiltrate their house?” Anna asked.
“I propose we sign a contract. The terms and conditions will be on the contract and you will be able to do whatever you want. Also, the fact that you can also live in the Monroe house with them,” Davis said.
Anna frowned, “I don't understand. What is this contract that you speak of?”
“We will get married and you will have access to the Monroe family so you can exact your revenge,” Davis replied.
Anna laughed, “If this is an elaborate ruse to trap me into another loveless marriage then you're wrong.”
“It’s to our benefit. Imagine what Daniel would feel when he finds out that you're married to Davis Solorante.”
“Besides, it's just a temporary arrangement till we've achieved our aim. All your life people have been using you, now it's your turn to use people.”
Anna took the contract from Davis and glanced through it. The contract stated that they would be married for six months in which if they had not achieved their aim they would extend the marriage.
It also stated that they were supposed to act like husband and wife both in public and private places as all eyes would be watching them.
It also stated that she would be getting a monthly allowance of one million dollars and then finally the sum of fifty million dollars after they divorced.
Anna stared at Lily. That was a lot of money to give to one person and after she had fulfilled her aim she would still have more money on her own.
But there was just one thing that kept bugging her.
“How exactly are we going to enter the family house?”
“Do you accept the terms of the contract? If you do then we will have the wedding by tomorrow and we will be in the family house that same day,” Davis replied.
Anna stared at Lily and she sighed. What did she have to lose anyway? If he's not who he says he is, they would separate immediately.
“I accept the terms of the contract,” Anna said.
“Wonderful. The money for your one-month allowance has been wired to your account, I will text you for the time and venue of the wedding,” Davis said and left.
Just as Anna stared at her phone and saw her account balance. One million dollars has been transferred to her account.
“This is crazy, Anna,” Lily giggled.
Anna laughed, Daniel had left her penniless but now she had some money of her own.
“It’s a crazy contract, but we want the same thing. What's the worst that can happen?”
