Amara stood outside the office.
This was the third time she had been standing outside such a place with a sad smile on her face. It was rather embarrassing. This was her fourth time trying to hand out her CV in such a place. At least they were more accommodating than the last.
That place had simply shut the door in her face when she asked to speak to the manager. The man simply did not care even when she shouted out that she only wanted a job. They even had a huge sign outside that said they were looking for workers.
Did Amara not meet that criteria?
“It’s a tough economy out here.”
Amara jumped and started up at the woman. She was incredibly tall and looked quite a bit older from her own age.
