Chapter 101 Don't Indulge Me Like I'm a Fool

Freya looked up at him and earnestly said, "Believe me, I will also be your best partner. I can not only help you heal, but also help you get revenge. We are partners, so we should be honest with each other." "Alright, then. Take off your clothes," Bradley said with a smirk. His dark and cold eyes scanning her collarbone with a deep gaze. "T-Take off clothes?" Freya was taken aback. Her first reaction was to wrap her arms around her body and shuffle backward a little. "A-Are you trying to take advantage of me?" His burning gaze made her very uneasy, so she quickly turned her face away with cheeks turning bright red. He's too dangerous! For some reason, he liked to see her blush. It made her look very cute and sensual. After clearing his throat, he solemnly said, "You said you want us to be honest with each other, but how can we be honest if you won't even take off your clothes?" Freya was taken aback, but she soon understood his meaning. In her anger, she grabbed a pillow and threw it at him. "You're a scoundrel, Bradley!" He was playing word games with her. Clearly, she did not mean to be honest with their bodies. Why did it always change to something so dirty when he was around? His mind was always in the gutter! Bradley casually grabbed the pillow, with a smile on his lips. Deep down, he heaved a sigh of relief at finally having changed the topic. He had been prepared to confess everything to her, but now was not the time. Additionally, Freya was so very certain that it had him feel off-guard. He had no choice but to flirt with her. In the end, he made her so flustered that she was hitting him with a pillow. "Okay. Your drug is almost under control now. Let's talk about our next move." He put the pillow back as he stared at her flushed ears with his deep eyes. She looked just like a shy little rabbit, clever and cute. Freya looked up to find him staring at her without blinking as if he wanted to imprint the image of her deep into his memories. It made her hair stand on end, so she turned her face away. "You have it all planned out, right? Why ask me?" He had locked Arthur in that room. Combined with the drugged maid, it was extremely obvious what would happen next. "You're so clever, yet you pretend to be dumb. How hard it has been on you." There was no way to tell if Bradley was complimenting her or mocking her. Despite her confusion, she immediately had a retort ready. "You're not blind, but you had to pretend to be blind. You have it tough too." The thought of how long he had lied to her, allowing him to see everything about her, made her grit her teeth in anger. Her reaction made him chuckle. "If I didn't pretend to be blind, how could I have a clear view of you?" Pfft! Freya nearly choked on her saliva. Every word he said was enough to fill her with embarrassment. The worst and most terrifying aspect was that he could tell what she was thinking. It was impossible for them to properly chat. Freya decided to just keep quiet instead. However, he had no intention of staying silent. He moved closer to her and coldly stated, "Other than pretending to be simple-minded and being Lexie in reality, what else…" What else are you lying to me about? Freya immediately shook her head. She refused to say anything, no matter what. "Nothing?" Bradley's eyes were like the eyes of a wolf stalking its prey. His voice was icy cold. "If you dare lie to me, I'll make you pay the price." He had been so sweet to the point of being overly so, but now he was harsh and fierce again. His temper is so strange. Freya shook her head, not wanting to talk to him. However, that made him miss the smirk lingering on the corner of his mouth. Bradley grabbed her chin, forcing her to look at him. "The price would be to give me a child and stay with me forever. Don't even think about running away." "I won't do it. You can't force me." She was forced to get married to him, so she absolutely would not give him any children. Bradley raised his eyebrows and chuckled. "You don't want to? Then, you'll obey me. I much prefer fools." Smart women were not safe in his mind. They could easily run off in a huff. He could not deal with that. It was better to marry a fool who would obediently do whatever he told her to. "Bradley, you know I'm not dumb." She solemnly looked at him. Now that she had come clean, she did not need to put on an act before him. "Yes, you're not." He carefully examined her beautiful face that was covered in a pink flush that made her look like a flower blossom just waiting to bloom. She was so pure and enticing. However, the closer he looked, the harder it felt to control himself. Freya saw the fire in his eyes. In her surprise, she pushed away his hand. "I'm not dumb, so don't try to indulge me like I am." "I love indulging you though," he said with a smile and a sly glint in his eyes. That made her choke. Once more, she felt flattered. Annoyed, she pursed her lips and said, "I'm not a child, I don't need to be treated like one." After two seconds of silence, he softly said, "I'm older than you. I'm willing to indulge you." That made her duck her head as she blushed. For some reason, she could remain calm while talking to James, but not while talking to Bradley. The oppressive aura coming from him was enough to make her nervous. It was especially true when he deliberately teased her as he spoke, making her blush and her heart race. "I don't need you to indulge me, but you can help me with something," she said after some hesitation. She had always wanted to find out the cause of her mother's death. While she knew it had all been a scheme, the mysterious disappearance of the driver who hit her had caused all leads to die off. There were not many days left to her mother's death anniversary. She had to find out the full truth before that day so that she could appease her late mother's soul. Since Bradley wanted her to trust him, then she would do so this time. Perhaps he could actually help her. "Tell me." He nodded and silently waited for her to speak. Freya thought for a moment before raising her head to look into his cold black eyes, and said, "I want you to help me find a man. His name is Herbie Jenkins." She then described the appearance of that man, which Bradley memorized before making a phone call. Clearly, he was arranging for someone to immediately look for the man. "Don't worry. I will help you investigate this matter thoroughly. Of course, I have conditions." She knew it. He always had ulterior motives when helping her. Freya pursed her lips, not wanting to talk to him anymore. He was a smooth talker and, ultimately, a profit seeker. Seeing her pout and turn her face away made Bradley let out a helpless chuckle. "My condition is simple. Call to me." "What?" Freya looked at him in confusion. "Call to me." His lips were discreetly turned upward. The look on her face made him strongly want to tease her. Freya blinked and suddenly grinned as she said, "Bradley?" His face remained blank. Evidently, he was still not satisfied. Freya bit her lip and softly whispered in a coy tone, "Bradley?" His face visibly changed. Her voice was so flirtatious yet innocent when she called him. It felt like she was a seductive sprite. However, that was still not the answer he wanted.
