Chapter 7 Not a Thief

I just nodded my head and didn't answer. "I have a little more food in my room, you can take it and I will order them to prepare your dinner plate." Adri said and headed for his room. I hesitated for a moment and followed him. His living area also had a living room with pastries and juices on the coffee table. Adri went into the study without saying anything more to me. I was alone in the living room eating my food and couldn't help but think of Tina and Takri. Although Takri did not like me and my father died because of him, he was good enough for me compared to Adri. At least he wouldn't let me go hungry after work. As I ate and thought, tears flowed down my face again and trickled down the corners of my mouth with a little saltiness. It's only Wednesday and I couldn't be home until Sunday. I didn't know how to spend the next few days, or how to get along with the maids. My stomach was not filled until all the pastries had been eaten. Perhaps it was because I was full, so my mood gradually improved. After I cleaned the plates and glasses, a maid who looked about forty came in and, after looking at me, went to the door of Adri's study and knocked on it. The way she looked at me with obvious disgust and dislike, I didn't know why she was so hostile to me. It was my first day here, and I didn't even say a word to anyone except to clean up. Only after getting Adri's permission did she walk in. "Kasha, sir wants you to come here for a moment." The maid once again came out of the study and greeted me. I hurried into the study, and Adri closed his book and looked up at me. "Just now Rafa said you were seen taking an object, is that true?" Adri's tone was not at all like a question, but a direct request for me to hand over something. "I was just cleaning my room this morning, and other than that, I didn't do anything, much less steal any of your belongings." I said to Adri with a frown. He could say anything about me, but the only thing he couldn't do was wrongly accuse me of being a thief; I hadn't stolen anything from anyone. "Rafa, you said she was seen taking something, so what did she take?" Adri asked, looking to Rafa. "Sir, she was seen taking a gemstone ring from your room." Rafa said seriously, as if she had seen me steal it with her own eyes. "I didn't steal it! I've never even seen the jewel ring, much less know where it is!" I felt so sad and angry inside. Why were people there so cruel, making me clean all morning, mocking me at lunch, and now slandering me for stealing? "So, where did she take the ring?" Adri asked calmly. "Sir, that's a question you should ask Kasha." The maid replied. "You're lying! You said I stole the jewel ring, so where was it supposed to be?" I questioned as I looked at her, even if Adri wanted to kick me out, she couldn't use a charge of theft, because I indeed didn't steal anything. "It should be in the box on the shelf in the study." The maid gave me a look and replied. "Unfortunately, when I was cleaning, I happened to be left with the study before I had time to clean it, and sir had asked me to leave. In the study, there must be traces left by the thief, except the traces of sir, don't you think?" Instead, I calmed down. It was my first day at the estate, and the only thing I hadn't done was enter Adri's study, where there would be no trace of me. Except for the thief. The maid froze when she heard my words, and she probably didn't expect that I hadn't even entered the study. "Rafa, you should know the consequences of lying to me." Adri's voice suddenly went cold to the maid. "Sir...I...I know, but it could be that they were seeing it wrong..." Rafa somewhat panickedly replied. I didn't say anything, I just wondered why they were doing it. "I don't think I lost my gem ring, so you can leave now, I don't want there to be a next time." Adri said angrily to Rafa. Rafa left in a hurry. I stood in front of Adri, and I didn't know if he believed me or Rafa. "It will be easier for you to move to the room on the right and call you over if I need you to do something." Adri said to me, in a softer tone than when he was talking to Rafa earlier, but I still heard his disgust. The room on the right was bigger than the one on the left, and it was more ornately furnished, like a room where a princess lived. If I hadn't heard in person that Adri had asked me to move in, I wouldn't have dared to imagine. Except for the dresser mirror, which allowed me to see clearly that I was wearing the maid's clothes. I lay in the soft bed, like lying in a ball of cotton, warm and comfortable. There was a knock at the door and I got out of bed and opened it. A young man appeared in front of me, and I had a slight impression of him. He and Adri were sitting together during the banquet. He was Gamma, and an ally and friend of Adri. Senge had short brown hair, light brown eyes, fair skin and a smile on his face that made him look full of sunshine and energy. He was about the same height as Adri, but had a completely different temperament. "So you're Kasha?" He inquired with a smile as he stood in the doorway. "Yes, did you want to see me for something?" I answered truthfully, he seemed gentle, or at least not as icy as Adri. "Nothing, just a little curious how Adri suddenly has a personal maid. Before I met you, I was wondering if I had misheard, but now it seems that I was wrong." Senge said with a smile. "What are you talking about?" I couldn't understand what he was trying to say at all and could only look at him in confusion. "I mean you're prettier than I thought, no wonder even Adri wants you as his personal maid." Senge said to me with a wave of her hand. I didn't think he would be praising me, which made me feel surprised and shyer. "For the Alpha's decision, I can only obey." I replied, and it was true, if Adri hadn't threatened to mark me as a rouge, I wouldn't have come here. "In a couple of days, Adri will go with us to meet the head of the northern wolf pack, the Ansett family, and I think he will take you with him." Senge said to me. The Ansett family was also allied with Adri, and it's only natural that he would want to meet the other side's chief, and I didn't really care if he took me with him. "I can't make the decision for Mr. If he wants me to come along, I'll go." I replied. "Once he reaches a real alliance with the Ansett family, the war with the rouges, too, will begin." Senge's face became serious.
