Chapter 18

It was nearly noon when Selena awoke the following day. Upon hearing the sound behind him, Herman tightened his hold around her waist and pulled her into his embrace. "Why are you up so early? Are you not feeling well?" Upon recalling what happened the previous night, Selena blushed and playfully poked his cheek, replying, "I'm fine. Why are you not at work today?" Herman, having recently taken over the company, had been swamped with work every day. He sometimes became so busy that he didn't even have time to eat. It was rare for Herman to have a morning off at home. He caught her playful hand and kissed it gently, replying, "There's not much happening at the company this morning. I've got an international meeting scheduled later in the afternoon, though, which means I'll be coming home late tonight. "You don't have to wait for me. If you have anything you'd like to eat, you can ask the housekeeper to prepare it for you or have the chauffeur take you out to eat." Selena nodded
