Chapter 2

Two years later, Natalie received a call from Taylor while handling a proxy agreement for her client. He gave her ten minutes to rush to the café and handle his mistress. With just ten seconds left to spare, she appeared promptly. Taylor reclined on the couch with a faint smile as he watched Natalie approach. After steadying her breath for three seconds, Natalie sat across from the unfamiliar woman and handed her a detailed list. "Ms. Leine, you've been in a relationship with Mr. Jones for two months. During this period, you've received gifts totaling 200 thousand dollars from Hermes, 300 thousand dollars from Patek Philippe, and a Maserati worth one million dollars. "These are all marital assets. If his wife finds out, you'll need to return them in full. However, if you break up now, at least you can get the money." Amanda Leine's face paled. "I'm not breaking up. Mr. Jones was forced to marry because of his wife's ploy. They'll divorce as soon as the three-year deadline is up. I heard she was also a mistress before she became his wife. Why can't I do the same?" Natalie's expression darkened as she hissed, "Are you sure you don't want to break up? In that case, I'll call Mrs. Jones now." "Hold on. You know Mr. Jones' wife?" Leine asked nervously. "Yeah, pretty well." Amanda clutched her Hermes bag and looked at Taylor tearfully. "Mr. Jones, I really like you. Why are you doing this to me?" With that, she stood up and left, her bag swinging by her side. Taylor clapped his hands, a mocking smile curling his lips. "Well done. Shall I cover the lawyer fees?" Natalie glared at Taylor's handsome but malicious face. She couldn't remember how many mistresses she had dealt with for him over the past two years. "Do you find this amusing?" she asked coldly. "It's alright," Taylor replied nonchalantly. He rose from the couch and stepped closer to Natalie with a coffee cup in hand. Before Natalie could react, Taylor poured the thick, dark liquid over her head. The coffee cascaded down her hair, across her face, seeped into her neckline, and finally down her chest. Only when he saw her slight frown did he seem satisfied. "This is more fun." Natalie was a stickler for cleanliness. The coffee soaking into her clothes made her feel exceptionally uncomfortable. She resisted the urge to lash out and pulled a few napkins to clean herself up. Once Natalie was done, she tossed the napkins into the trash and turned to leave. However, Taylor grabbed her wrist and pinned her against the edge of the table. Taylor's dark eyes were fixed on her. A mocking smile played on his lips as he hissed, "Just one more year until our three-year agreement ends. The closer we get to your freedom, the more it bothers me. Maybe I've grown addicted to tormenting you these past two years. Perhaps I don't want to let you go?" Natalie remained composed as she replied, "You can be assured that once the contract is up, I'll sign the divorce papers and disappear from your life immediately—no strings attached." "Hah!" Taylor's smile vanished, replaced by a cold, menacing frown. His fingers clamped on her chin with brute force as he spoke with disdain. "Two years ago, you shamelessly crawled into my bed. As a result, Bethany broke up with me and left Jadebourgh. How dare you speak of no strings attached now? Don't you think it's too late for that?" Natalie struggled against Taylor's grip, her breaths coming in short gasps as she fought to break free. She slapped his hand repeatedly, saying, "L-Let go of me!" When Taylor noticed Natalie's flushed face, he sensed a vitality in her that seemed absent before. "If you have the guts to tell Grandpa about the divorce, do it now. Otherwise, stop acting so high and mighty. Got it?" Taylor finally released his grip after Natalie nodded fervently. "Be at the family dinner tonight. You know what to say and what not to say. Or do you need me to teach you?" Natalie lowered her head to hide her tear-filled eyes. "No need." "Good." With that, Taylor scoffed and walked away. … At five in the evening, George Jones devised a plan with the family butler, Larry Orlen, in the living room. "When Nat arrives, make sure she drinks the special tea. When Taylor gets here, send him to the study for a chat. After he has his drink, I'll send him to her room. I’m determined to get a great-grandchild out of this!" "Two years ago, Mr. Jones got into bed with Mrs. Jones because he was deceived. Isn't it inappropriate to do this?" George waved off Larry's concern. "Things can't get any worse. That fool keeps trying to provoke her with fake news. If we don't act, I might lose my granddaughter-in-law! The plan tonight must work!"
