CHAPTER 139: THE NIGHT OF BETRAYAL
Shirley stood before the soldiers, her hands trembling slightly as she tried to explain herself. The cold wind whipped through the trees.
"I swear, I didn't mean to kill your companion," she said, her voice cracking. "It was an accident. I was trying to defend myself."
