"I feel like, under mitigating circumstances, that we can really lessen the punishment for this particular injustice," I reasoned between the two Alphas. "If we could just talk about this, like men—"

For a man known for his terrible anger issues, David was trying to pull through on this new policy of changing over a new leaf. I can't believe it; David Hurt was trying his damndest not to be the asshole for once!
Even now, with me wedged between the two Alphas, he was not touching me as he might have a month ago. His hands were loose at his side, breathing even. He looked bored to the untrained eye, and his squinting did a remarkable job of hiding his bruised sockets from lack of sleep.
"Yes, well." I pushed at their chests, neither moving…as expected. "I can certainly understand why that would be a reason to be upset—"
