Marrie said reflexively, "That's impossible! She wouldn't dare disobey me." "Go downstairs and look for yourself if you don't believe me." Marrie did not head downstairs. Instead, she walked to the balcony to see Yanny's car still parked in the yard. She was baffled. "That brat! She did whatever she wanted and disobeyed me again!" Marrie was a very domineering person. She found it most offensive when others challenged her authority and disobeyed her. Whether at work or at home, she would not tolerate disobedience. Yanny and Heidi had acted on their own and killed Steven, so she kicked the former out of her home and fired the latter. Regardless, her authority and dominance were completely destroyed in Steven's presence. She'd even begged him for mercy several times.
