Annabeth Cates had experience with babies before this, but the baby in her arms felt far too little. It felt as if her baby would slip right through her arms if she wasn’t careful. She anxiously changed her position several times before finally having a firm hold of her baby. She eagerly kissed her baby on the forehead as she held her closer. The baby was sound asleep and didn’t open her eyes. Everything about the baby was small. Her face was small, and so were her hands. She looked scrawny in her arms. Just one look at the baby was enough to make her want to give her the world. Annabeth finally understood how it felt to be a mother wanting to treasure her child.
