CHAPTER 11

ALEX'S POV I walked back and forth in the empty cell, my fists clenched. My eyes roamed over each corner, each weak point. I brought my hand up to my head, massaging my temple. How did she get away? There had to be a way she escaped. She didn't simply disappear. "Someone helped her." The realization caused another wave of rage through me. "How the fuck did she escape?" I bellowed through the stone walls. "Fucking tell me!" The guards flinched. The head guard stepped forward, his head bowed. "Sorry, Alpha, but we think that one of our guards helped her escape." Anger burned through me like flame. My fingers tensed toward the gun at my back. In one fluid motion, I pulled it free, pressing it to his head. His entire body trembled, his breath exploding out in shallow, fast puffs. How I wanted to just yank the hellish trigger. How did they let a prisoner get away? How did they let her get away?
