Chapter 6

"Oh God! Don't you blame your sister now? For all I know, this is really who you are. A damn whore!" Luna Vera, my mother, shouted at me. I heard Serra giggling, but I couldn't tear my eyes off my mother. I was too in shock to even move my eyes. My lips shake. "C-Cheap and a damn whore? How can you say those insulting words to your daughter? You are my mother. I know that I was never your favorite, but really, Mom? Even when you caught Trevor and Serra red-handed. You'd still toss the blame to me?" Anger sparked in her eyes. She cut the distance between the two of us with just one step, and then she taunted me with her finger. "Daughter? Do you know what I hate hearing the most? That I beg the moon Goddess to be merciful to me, so I wouldn't hear those words anymore?" She asked. She probably saw the pain that had to cross in my eyes because she nodded her head once. "Yes that words. That exact thing that is running in your little head. I hate hearing you call me mother. I hate it whenever I am reminded that you are my daughter because all that you bring in our family is disgrace. You should have died that night. We shouldn't have taken care of you. If only I knew that you'd always cause us trouble. I would have chosen to abandon you that day," she said. There was no trace of her snapping back to a reality, even after the silence between all of us stretched. She didn't say those out of anger. She said all of those because she means it. My mother hates me this much. Those words went around in circles as they kept playing in my head. I needed to cover my ears, so I wouldn't hear those hurtful words anymore. "I don't understand, Mom. Why do you hate me this much? All my life, I have been trying to please you. I am bleeding dry to please you and yet, you never care and despite everything that I did. You still hate me as if I am not your daughter. It was as if I were your enemy's daughter." "Because you-" "Vera!" Alpha Ameo's thunder - like voice roared in our ears. He flashed a warning look at his wife, who made her and her wolf cower. She took a step back as the Alpha walks inside my prison cell. Disappointment flashed in his eyes. Though, he is not yet aware of what really happened. I could feel that he didn't want to hear the details of why do I look like that? "Alpha Claudius and his beta of the blood moon pack are on their way here," he said, and then he glanced at me. It seems like the three of them quickly got the flow of the ongoing conversation, and I was left to wonder what was going on. "It wouldn't be too hard for you to make Eero look at least half decent for that guest of ours, right? I believe that you could handle this much of a responsibility?" Alpha Ameo asked his wife and even when I was throwing a questioning look at him and Luna Vera, none of them answered me until my eyes clashed with Serra. She giggled evilly, "Oh, didn't you know? Today is the day that you will get picked up by the cruel Alpha as if you are some goods," she said as she started to explain things to me. I narrowed my eyes at Serra, "The cruel Alpha? Who is this Alpha that you are talking about, and why is he coming here to pick me up? D-Dad, what does she mean? Is Serra telling me the truth?" "Oh dear sister! When did I ever lie to you? You know what's one thing that I could never do? To lie to you." Serra hummed. She placed her finger under her chin to act as if she was in deep thinking. "How am I supposed to explain this to her, Dad?" She asked Alpha Ameo with her eyes still pasted on me. Serra rolled her eyes. "God, I can't believe that you are this stupid. You don't even know who is that infamous cruel Alpha? Alpha Claudius, obviously, is the alpha of the blood moon pack. The Alpha King. The Alpha of all Alpha. Ever since he reigned and started to rule. He brought glory to his pack and was tagged as the strongest and smartest Alpha that ever lived. He was unstoppable and every pack acknowledged that, including us. Back when our pack was still at the height of our glorious days. Alpha Claudius would be just like a speck of dust against the moon river pack, against us, but oh well." Serra finished talking by saying those words that left me hanging in a thread of curiosity. "Things changed and for us to please him and his pack, so he wouldn't attack and wipe us out. We have to do whatever it is that he wants." "And is that Alpha asking for a slave, Dad?" I asked nervously. Even when I tried to pull myself out of this confusion. I just can't. "Are you sending me to go with him as a slave? But you can't do that. I am not a slave. I am not even an omega. I am your daughter, who means that I am still a princess of this pack." I shake my head as I kneel before my father, pleading him not to do this. "Please, don't send me away. I don't want to become his slave. If I must serve an Alpha. I would rather serve you. Please, just this once. Don't do this to me," I pleaded. "Oh, worry no more, Eero. We won't be sending you as a slave, but you still need to serve the cruel Alpha, for he is picking you up to become his breeder, not his slave."
