Chapter
"Is he joking? How could a girl possibly betray us."
"That's ridiculous, Mira can't even hurt a fly."
"How could that girl talk to rogues and more importantly, why would the rogues trust her."
The crowd whispered to themselves. They were all confused.
"I will never betray our pack Alpha. I couldn't do that!" I shouted so he could hear me at the front.
"Alpha, there's no way Mira could possibly do this. Besides, you told us that we took in that person. How can we possibly accept Mira to the pack when she's already accepted by law, since she's the daughter of our beta." The crowd questioned.
Alpha Damien went down and sauntered towards me, "Because, she wasn't his real daughter. She was adopted."
"I-I'm what?," I stuttered.
The crowd couldn't believe what the Alpha had just said. For a moment they thought the lost of his mate made him insane insane. No one could have ever thought that Mira is adopted. She was deeply loved by her parents, especially by her father.
Logan, Leila and Adam couldn't also believe what they were hearing right now. They were all too confused to process what had just happened.
"What do you mean?" I asked in shock and disbelief.
"Your dad told us before that you weren't his child. He saw you alone in the woods when you were a baby. It means you were a rogue originally until we accepted you into our pack."
"N-no! I'm not adopted!" I shouted in denial and tears went out of my eyes.
I'm Mira Savera, Beta Sebastian and Alana Savera are my parents. Logan and Leila Savera are my real siblings. I was never adopted. It's impossible. It's not real.
"YES! YES you are!" He shouted and I flinched, "Your a rogue! Mira wasn't even your name. Sebastian just gave you that name and you don't deserve it. You don't deserve everything you have." he paused, "From now on, I'm stripping you off your position as our beta and I now declare your new position as our omega."
I felt the restraint of power that was caused by my new position. I felt myself weaken after what he said.
"Alpha calm down, the girl couldn't possibly betray your pack. She doesn't even know that she was a rogue." Lycan Reece interfered.
"After the attack, I did my own research. I watched what happened to our CCTV cameras and I saw this girl talking to an unknown rogue during the attack. She let him in our borders and one of our warriors can attest to that."
Alpha Damien turned on the screen before us and he revealed the video where I was talking to Coby. The crowd watched the video carefully and they were starting to think that Alpha Damien was right.
"Coby wasn't one of them. He's a good rogue who left their pack because he was mistreated. It was all a coincidence."
"A coincidence? How did you even saw that rougue? How did you met him?"
"I was playing by the borders-"
"YOU WERE OUTSIDE THE BORDER! That rogue can't enter our borders so you can't possibly meet him from the inside."
"You brought the rogue in here! You betrayed us." He then turned to the crowd and said, "Anyone who shows a bit of respect to her or have mercy on her will be banished. You can do anything you want to her except killing her."
I looked at all the people who used to love me. They all hated me and didn't believe me.
I was devastated. I just found out that my family weren't actually my real family and my pack is accusing me of betrayal.
My friend who told me that he loves me was looking at me full of hatred. He thinks that I'm the reason why his mom and siblings are dead. He didn't believe me when I told him I had nothing to do with it.
I mean, who wouldn't? Alpha Damien showed them a footage of me talking to a rogue and crying for his death.
Still, I was their family. Logan, Leila, Adam and I grew up as a family and friends. We almost did everything together. How could they just throw those things away?
"The meeting is dismissed!" Alpha Damien shouted and left the room.
As soon as he left, the pack pushed me outside and threw stones at me.
I tried my best to crawl away from them but they surrounded me and blocked the path where I could escape.
"You monster!"
They roared and shouted hurtful words at me. Some of the stones landed on my head. They didn't stop kicking, punching, spitting and throwing stones at me until my whole body bled and most of my bones were broken.
When they saw all the injuries they inflicted, they all decided to leave. Some of them wanted to continue but they couldn't because they were ordered not to kill me.
I can feel my ribs poking at my lungs and my legs were sticking out in different angles. Opening my eyes even hurts too much. I laid down on the pool of my blood under the scorching heat of the sun.
"Water," I whispered. Tears fell out of my eyes and I winced when it touched my wounded cheek.
I tried to stand up with my left hand or crawl like a worm towards a plant nearby to cover myself from the sun but the pain was excruciating.
I was about to faint when someone held me and raised my head on the ground. It was the girl my age whom I saved in the war whose name was Ingrid.
"I'm sorry, I was late. Drink this, so your wounds will heal faster." She brought the small glass bottle to my lips but I turned my head away.
"You can't help me. The Alpha will kill you even if you're just a kid."
"I know, that's why I made sure that no one is looking. Now, drink this before someone will see us."
I drank the black liquid and coughed at its bitterness. Blood went out of my sides because I coughed.
"You must drink all this," she muttered.
The black liquid made me want to vomit. It's bitter and it has a weird aftertaste that is similar to rancid meat.
"It's a recovery potion that my dad always drinks after his battles. It's made out of the rafflesia flower."
"Only witches can make potions."
"Yes, my dad was mated to a mage. I can't carry you to your room. I must leave you here. Don't move until you feel okay,"
It's rare to get mated to someone other than a werewolf. I never thought it could even happen.
I had never seen her mother and had never seen a mage in our pack before.
I had a lot of questions to ask her but she immediately left with the empty bottle on her hand.
I know well that his father was a warrior and he died in the war. Why would she help me if she thinks that I was the reason for her father's death.
The potion she gave me made me dizzy and feel numb. I couldn't feel the heat of the sun and the wet sticky blood behind my back. My vision blurred and after a few minutes I fell asleep.
