Chapter 83
Bailey slowly blinked awake. A familiar ceiling with Renaissance paintings all over it appeared before her eyes. "Pack house?" she mumbled. She gingerly tried to sit up with a slight wince. The room was eerily quiet as her eyes fell on Caspian, sleeping peacefully by her side on the bed.
Bailey's face flattened, staring at the bandages all over Caspian's body. She couldn't recall the turn of events as she mumbled again, "Why the heck is he mummified?"
Suddenly, the memories bubbled up inside her mind. As if on cue, fatigue swept over Bailey's body as she fell back on the bed. Once Bailey dozed for another hour or so, she climbed out of bed and stretched her body. Caspian wasn't there now; she wondered how he'd moved with those mummified arms and legs.
The last thing Bailey remembered was the battlefield and how Caspian saved the world from destruction. She whirled around in surprise, finding out that the pack house was still intact, without even a scratch, though half of the town
