Chapter 11

AMY My eyes faintly opened to the morning rays coming from the transparent wall. A tiny smile graced my lips, enjoying the view of the pack. I clung to the pillow and curled under the blanket feeling a bit cold. Never ever had I slept on a bed this comfy, my eyes were about to close again but then the bathroom door opened. It was Logan, a white towel was wrapped around his waist and his hair was moist and in a perfect mess which I found totally adorable. He had a large roaring wolf face tattoo inscribed on the left side of his chest and his abs, they electrified my nerves in the most exciting way. He glanced at my side and I quickly shut my eyes, pretending to be asleep. He proceeded to the wardrobe and I peeked. His muscles arched perfectly as he parted the wardrobe doors. I couldn’t help but imagine running my fingers across that steel back of his. I studied him closer, enjoying the rhythm of his breaths. He had a tattoo across his right forearm, I couldn’t picture it well but it certainly complimented him well. The more I stared, the more these lustful thoughts filled my head. I was definitely playing with fire but I liked it either way. I watched every moment, from wearing his black jeans to draping his blue shirt over his shoulders. “Good morning, Amy,” he muttered and I immediately shut my eyes. He chuckled briefly. “You don’t have to pretend you know, I know when I’m being watched.” Yup! There was no use pretending. “I’m sorry,” I smiled while I sat up and he turned to me with a smirk. “We’re mates, you don’t have to be so formal. Besides...” He paused as he came to the side drawer to take his watch. “You own me, from the top to the bottom.” He winked as he came closer. His cologne easily filled the air and my breaths froze as my eyes fell on his rosy red lips tempting me to kiss them. He pulled away as if he knew exactly what he had done. “I hope you enjoyed your night's rest?” he said while he wore his watch. I hummed. “I have some work to deal with so I won’t be available for a while, if you need anything, the maids—“ “I know.” I smiled and he smiled too. “I should leave now,” he mumbled while he headed towards the door. Once he left, I headed to the wall side, enjoying the beautiful view of the Pack. In a way it reminded me of my Pack. How peaceful the morning always was. The gentle knock on the door tousled my thoughts. “Come in.” “Good morning, Luna,” the lady dressed in a black gown intoned courteously. She was probably the same age as me. “I’m Akira, the Alpha tasked us to get you some clothes and shoes. I hope they’re up to your liking.” “Okay?” I frowned a bit seeing she wasn’t holding any clothes around but before I could say anything, seven maids came in holding several boutique bags. “Please check them,” she said but my jaw almost dropped from the amount of bags I was seeing. These bags were ridiculously too much and expensive for just ‘some’ clothes. I didn’t even know where to start. “Just uhm drop them on the bed, I’ll check them later.” “Yes, Luna,” they chorused. “The Alpha also assigned me to attend to every of your needs. I’ll need to note some of the things you like and don’t. Like your favorite flowers, your allergies, if you have any, the meals you don’t like...“ “Akira,” I called with a sigh following suit. I almost zoned off hearing her saying all these things with a perfect smile. I knew being a Luna comes with its exclusive treatments but I didn’t expect it to be more than I imagined. “I’m totally fine and if I need anything I’d be sure to call you, okay?” “Did I do something wrong?” Her voice hinted at a bit of fear. “Not at all! I just woke up and I’m still trying to process a lot. I mean look at these clothes, it will definitely take a while checking them.” “I can help, Luna. That’s why you have me,” she replied. “I appreciate your gesture, Akira, but I think I’ll do just fine on my own.” “Please don’t go overboard, Luna.” “Of course. You can leave.” “Before I go, what would you like to have for breakfast?” “Were you the one who made that mac and cheese last night?” “Yes Luna.” “It was delicious. The best I’ve ever had,” I said and she instantly gleamed with excitement. “I’m okay with anything you make.” “Thank you, Luna.” She bowed courteously before leaving with the rest. I heaved a heavy sigh staring at the bags that filled the bed. I caught a glimpse of a note fixed to one of the bag’s handles and I picked it. ‘With Love, Logan’ the small note red and I smiled. I looked around the other bags and I realized each of them had the same note fixed to them. I checked the bag, it contained a gold stiletto heel and my smile deepened. I was about to check another one when a knock graced the door again. “Come in,” I mumbled, expecting to see Akira but this time it was Logan’s mother. “Mrs. Wilson, good morning.” “Morning dear. I wonder what wardrobe all these would fit in.” We both chuckled. “I hope all this is not too much for you,” she added. I looked around. “I’ve been used to a simple life with my foster family and getting all these treatments, it feels so foreign like I’m some kind of royalty.” “You are royalty. Being the Luna of the Alpha King is no small title or blessing,” she beamed. “Neither the responsibilities attached to it. I fear I might not be able to live up to expectations.” She came closer, holding my cheek dearly. “Don’t put pressure on yourself, Amy. Besides, I’m here for you and I know you’re destined for greatness.” My eyes twitched in admiration. “Please.” I dropped the heels back into the bag. “Come sit.” I gestured to the couch but she wriggled her head. “I’m fine, love. I just came to check on you both. Where’s Logan?” “He had some work to attend to.” “That boy doesn’t listen! He’s supposed to be spending ample time with you and he’s running off to some work.” She wriggled her head and I just had to maintain my smile. This woman mustn’t know that Logan and I haven’t technically accepted each other heartily. “It’s fine, Mrs. Wilson. He’ll be back soon.” “Oh please, call me mother.” “Mother,” I quoted and faint tears gleamed in her eyes. “So how can I help? Certainly you can’t go through all these by yourself,” she stared at the bags. “No no it—“ “I’m not taking no from my daughter.” She went to the bed and picked up one of the bags. I was about to join her but then my gaze fell on the painting and my smile faded. “Mother, this painting, who is she?” I asked and her smile faded seeing the painting. “Akira!” She yelled. “Akira!” “Yes, Mrs. Wilson,” Akira answered as she rushed in. “Get this painting out of this room this instant!” she ordered in the iciest voice I’d ever heard. “Mother,” I called. “Stay out of this, Amy!” My frown deepened. What was with this woman in the picture? First Logan and now her.
