Chapter 8
Sienna sat on the newly made king-size bed in the bedroom.
Miss White, who was organizing her belongings, sighed and could not help but say, “Miss, you made such a big fuss today. I am afraid that after this…”
Keegan was ignorant, and his heart was completely leaning toward Clara, an outsider.
Jonas was a simpleton as well. He could only see Clara’s kindness and frailty on the surface.
In this family, the eldest brother, Jaime Lang, had an indifferent personality and did not care much for anyone. The only person who treated Sienna well was her second brother, Colson Lang. However, Colson started working outside on his own several years ago, and Sienna only saw him several times a year.
The Lang family practically revolved around Clara now.
Miss White was worried, and she said with concern, “Miss, why did you suddenly take out the will that Madam left you before she passed away today? Now that Master Lang is aware of it, he will likely devise a plan to force you to surrender your shares to him…”
Miss White instinctively covered her mouth midway through her remarks. How could a maid attempt to manage her master’s household in secret?
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, Miss. I have no intention of provoking anyone!”
Miss White apologized repeatedly. She thought that Sienna would stand up for Keegan as fiercely as she had before. However, Sienna just yawned lazily and said, “I won’t give him this chance.”
Miss White was surprised when she heard this.
Miss Sienna did not seem the same as she was before.
Miss White was both relieved and happy. “Miss, everything has already been organized neatly. You should rest well since you just came back from the hospital. I will go to the kitchen to make you some tonic soup to nourish your body!”
“Okay. Thank you, Miss White.”
The corners of Sienna’s mouth curled slightly as she watched Miss White leave.
The door was shut once again.
Sienna looked around and picked up the laptop on the table.
She turned on the laptop and inserted the USB flash drive into it.
As anticipated, someone had read the information inside, and now, the contents had all been emptied! It was gone now!
There was a trace of coldness in Sienna’s eyes.
Harry was really interesting.
He claimed to be returning the USB flash drive she had dropped to its rightful owner, but he had rigged it first!
Sienna had a sour expression on her face and was on the verge of slamming the laptop shut out of rage. However, the computer suddenly beeped twice, and two videos appeared on the USB flash drive a split second later.
One was the evidence she had downloaded through hacking means.
The second copy…
Sienna was stunned. Before she could understand what was going on, a line of text suddenly appeared on the laptop screen.
‘I told you that I’m a good person.’
Sienna was speechless.
It was too late. She had already cursed at him.
As this thought crossed her mind, a statement appeared in place of the words on her laptop.
‘You have wronged a good man, so shouldn’t you apologize to me?’
There was a string of phone numbers behind the small print.
It was Harry’s personal cell phone number. How many people in Isonbert had wanted to get close to him but were unsuccessful? And now, he was taking the initiative to appear in front of Sienna in this rather deliberate manner.
Sienna blinked.
This man expected her to call and apologize to him?
Dream on!
As long as she remained silent about it, then it would count as she had never scolded anyone!
Sienna furrowed her brows as she typed hastily on the keyboard. In just a few seconds, she forcefully exited the application, and the words displayed on the screen also disappeared.
After keeping the USB flash drive safely, Sienna got up, found a clean set of clothes, and went to the bathroom.
Sienna took a close look at her current face in front of the mirror.
It was delicate and flawless, and her eyes were bright. The courage and stubbornness of her reign of terror had faded away, and there was a little more immaturity and ignorance of a young lady of a wealthy family.
She was reincarnated in a body that resembled her own, but what kind of coincidence and fate could have caused that?
Sienna lowered her eyes and turned around in front of the mirror.
The skin on her back was fair, and there were no unsightly scars that protruded deep enough to reveal her bones.
It was not bad.
The corners of Sienna’s mouth twitched as she smiled in a self-deprecating manner.
…
At night, the early summer breeze blew gently.
Harry sat relaxedly on the reclining chair. His slender fingertips swiped across his cell phone screen from time to time.
The call that he was anticipating never came.
Kai persuaded, “Master Harry, it is windy on the rooftop. Lady Scott asked me to urge you again. Hurry and go down. You cannot spend too much time in the wind, lest you catch a cold.”
Harry coughed lightly twice, but he remained immobile.
Kai was so anxious that he spun in place and blurted out, “Master Harry, why are you so interested and invested in THAT daughter of the Lang family? After all, it's impossible that she's the person that you met ten years ago! We have already looked into it, and that young girl is already dead.”
As soon as his voice fell, the wind on the top floor seemed to have frozen up.
Harry raised his eyes slowly. His eyes had no warmth, and they were so icy that they caused people to shiver.
“I've been treating you with too much indulgence lately, it seems.”
Murderous intent erupted from his body, and the atmosphere was so depressing to the point that it was suffocating!
Kai’s legs went weak, and he instantly fell to his knees.
“Master Harry, I’m so sorry! I erred in what I said!”
This was a taboo, and no one was allowed to bring it up!
Harry’s face was expressionless, but his tone was unprecedentedly cold.
“Go and get the punishment yourself. Get lost.”
Kai got up from the ground in a hurry, as if he had received amnesty, and left quickly.
The stars were silent, and the night was dark.
Harry’s long and upright figure was elongated by the moonlight. Nobody could read his mind, and all that could be sensed was the utter loneliness that was being repressed.
…
The sun rose at seven o’clock in the morning.
Sienna was drenched in sweat, and she panted slightly after a strenuous workout.
The only problematic thing about her current body was that she was too delicate. She would have to exert a hundred times as much effort and hard work if she wanted to return to the peak moment when she was extraordinarily skilled.
Sienna exhaled, wiped off her sweat, and prepared to go back to her room to take a shower and change into clean clothes.
Consequently, she bumped into Clara directly as she walked down the stairs.
“Why are you up so early today, Sienna? Were you exercising?” Clara smiled sweetly and without a trace of resentment, as if all of the unpleasantness yesterday never occurred.
Sienna did not even bother to look at her, and she walked straight ahead.
However, Clara’s voice came from behind her as Clara flaunted vaguely, “But Quentin only likes frail and well-behaved girls, not the kind of girls with too much strength. It makes men have no desire to protect them at all.”
