After Lily was born, the joy and pride of being a mother had overwhelmed Valeria and she had tried her best to become a mother her daughter would be very proud of. She had waited tables, cleaned hospital floors and hawked tickets, anything to put food on the table that was legal and wouldn't out her and her baby at risk.
