While they were at this, a harsh siren rang outside, and Elizabeth's phone rang at the same time. Elizabeth answered the phone call and said a few words to the person on the other end of the phone line. ''The police are here. Jerry, please watch over her for now while I go and talk to them,'' Elizabeth said. ''Okay,'' Jerry Dank said with a nod. After Elizabeth left, the room was so quiet that one could hear the sound of needles falling. Jerry Dank leaned towards Audrey slightly, and applied the medicine on the wound on her forehead. They were so close to each other to the extent that they could hear each other's breathing. Audrey closed her eyes tightly while this was going on.
