Chapter 4: Watch Him Undress

She swiveled around immediately and squeezed her eyes shut. William grinned evilly, watching her every move as he pulled his clothes off and started pulling on his suit. “It’s nothing you haven’t seen before,” William teased. “Jesus, warn me before you take your clothes off!” she hissed. “Says the girl who stripped me last night,” William snorted. The rustling of clothes stopped and Sarah opened her eyes and turned around. She bit her tongue when she saw him leaning against the bathroom counter, his shirt gaping open, showing off his chiseled chest. “Like what you see?” he said. He pulled his suit jacket on and then slowly buttoned his shirt. “No!” she barked. He took a step forward and his hand caressed the top of her head. He leaned forward and pressed his warm lips on her forehead. Sarah’s eyes fluttered closed at the spark of pleasure rushing through her body. “See you later,” he announced. He quickly wiped her forehead with his thumb before moving past her. “You are not coming back here again!” she called after him. “Have a great day and don’t forget to eat on time!” He waved at her before he opened the front door. He was gone in the blink of an eye, leaving her breathless and still reeling from the feeling of his lips on her skin. She felt taken care of all of a sudden, something she had not experienced since her mother passed away. She scrubbed the scorching skin of her forehead, trying to erase all traces of him before she walked back into the kitchen. Her phone was constantly ringing, her friend blowing her phone up and trying to get the juicy gossip from her. She picked up the call and fingered the bag of food on the counter. “Did the guy from last night come back?” Sarah sighed. “He did. And he brought me breakfast,” she announced. She sipped on her coffee and then opened the bag to see what he had bought for her. “That one small action says everything about him. Girl, you’re doomed.” Sarah raised a brow. “What is that supposed to mean?” she asked. When she opened the box of food, she was left speechless. “He brought me hangover soup and scrambled eggs,” Sarah whispered. “Sarah, if you dare let this man go… One-night stand? He should be your every night stand!” Amanda exclaimed. “He is a morning person, knows that actions speak louder than words, and he won’t let you treat yourself poorly?” she said. “Where did you find this guy?” “In the club,” Sarah grumbled. She took a fork and put a bit of egg into her mouth. She bit her lips, knowing these had to be some of the best scrambled eggs she had eaten. Nostalgic memories from her childhood came back to her. Her mother had bounced across their small kitchen, making her onion soup and scrambled eggs for breakfast. This was nowhere close to the taste, but the warmth seeping down her throat to her full body was acutely close to those times. “I should have hung out with you for longer.” Sarah looked up and shook her head. “You can take him if you want,” she said timidly. Amanda clucked her tongue. “Would you allow that? You sound like you want him all to yourself—” “No!” Sarah protested. “—and you don’t even know it,” Amanda chimed in. “The professor asked me to drop by and supervise a class today,” Sarah said, changing the topic immediately. “Oh, the woes of being a good student.” The teasing fell on deaf ears. Actually, Sarah was a smart girl who knew not to step on anyone’s toes. While doing an MBA, it was easy to be the target of others and be dragged down. Instead of competing, she went with her mantra of being invisible and ranked somewhere in the top ten people in her class—high, but not enough to garner too much attention. On several occasions, she had to sit through exams and pretend not to know some answers so that she could maintain her facade. And just like that, the good and invisible Sarah was taken advantage of by the professors. Not that she minded. Sarah got dressed quickly and left for class. The emergency class was going to happen. She knew the university had taken some major donations from wealthy businessmen to allow rich kids to attend. Now, she would have to monitor them and make sure none of them failed. When she knocked on the door, she found the elderly professor looking her over. “Come in,” he said. “You’ll have to do. None of the others were available.” Because the students at the top actually had ambition and didn’t want to nurture the next generation that would steal their jobs. Sarah scoffed. She put her bag down and took the class material from the professor’s hand. “These are our transfer students,” he said, waving to the crowd. Each and every one of the boys and girls was dressed impeccably. They looked every bit as filthy rich as their parents were, with branded clothes and pristine nails. They looked at her and her plain clothes in disdain. “Hi, I am Sarah Mitch, and I will be the tutor and teaching assistant for this class.” She didn’t want to remind the entitled brats that they were lagging behind their peers. They would take over their parents’ companies or live lives of luxury. They only attended college because they had an educated image to project. “Please introduce yourselves,” Sarah announced. She noticed the eye rolls and annoyance, but they complied with her nonetheless. Second son of a real-estate mogul. A family business that makes microwave parts. Yeah. She knew all their surnames. They were the kind of people she avoided at all costs. But it was the last girl that made Sarah Mitch pause. The girl had pearls braided into her hair and she wore a blush pink blazer and skirt. They looked nothing alike, but her surname stood out. “My name is Wendy Stone. My mother is currently the Chairman of Stones and Brothers Company.” Stones was a multi-billion dollar mining and construction company that had been headed by the deceased Phillip Stone before his untimely demise. Wendy Stone flipped her hair over her shoulder. Sarah was frozen to her spot. She had just come across her father’s legitimate daughter, the one he had with his wife, Vera Kincaid.
