Chapter 3

Darius was deliberately twisting my words, already convinced I was just some cheap woman—one that anyone could buy. In that moment, I couldn’t even explain myself. The car had stopped right outside the company building, and pedestrians were walking by, oblivious to what was happening inside. I felt humiliated—utterly humiliated—and wished I could vanish on the spot. Desperation filled my voice as I pleaded with him. “Darius, please... not here... I beg you...” But there was no stopping him. Darius ignored my pleas, his grip tightening as he shoved my legs further apart. Tears blurred my vision, the hopelessness of it all overwhelming. “Please... Alpha Darius, let’s go somewhere else. Whatever you want, I’ll do it. I’ll please you... I’ll flatter you...” Before I could finish, Darius seized my face, forcing my mouth open and silencing me with a kiss. “What makes you think you can make demands? Don’t you want the money? If you want me to sign that contract, then you’ll please me right here.” Shock hit me like a slap, my eyes wide as tears spilled down my face, dripping into my hair. I shook my head, trying to explain, but Darius didn’t release me. He wasn’t giving me a chance to speak. “If you don’t want to sign the contract, then get out of the car,” he growled, his grip tightening as he tried to push me out. I froze, panic rising in my chest. What would people think if they saw me, in this state, stepping out of the car? “No...” My hands gripped Darius’s broad back, my legs wrapping around him as I clung to him, refusing to let go. “Please, Alpha Darius...” With a swift motion, Darius yanked me away, tossing me back onto the seat like I was nothing. “Don’t touch me. You’re not worthy to lay a finger on me!” To him, I wasn’t even human. I was just an object to satisfy his desires. And he never let me forget it. Overcome with emotion, I choked out, “I don’t want the contract anymore... Just let me get dressed. I’ll leave immediately.” Darius sneered, pressing his body against mine, his voice low and rough. “Whether you leave or not isn’t up to you. When it’s time for you to leave, I’ll tell you. Right now? I just want to hear your moans.” Humiliation clawed at me, but I refused to give in. I couldn’t escape, but I would never degrade myself in that moment. I stiffened, and Darius seemed bored. With a flick of his hand, he raised the partition between the front and back seats. A moment later, the driver opened the door, and the car started moving. I breathed a sigh of relief as the car pulled away from the company gate, my body softening, if only for a second. But then Darius abruptly pulled away, shoving me aside as he sat down on the opposite side of the car. Quickly, I adjusted my dress, closing my legs, trying to regain some semblance of control. Darius didn’t speak. He rolled down the window, lit a cigarette, and let the smoke swirl between us, thickening the silence. I lowered my lashes, then, after a long pause, whispered, “Thank you.” Thank you... for not continuing what we were doing in the car. Even the smallest mercy, like this, was something I had to be grateful for. Darius’s cold laugh cut through the air. He didn’t even glance at me. I bit my lip and said nothing more. The contract lay at my feet. I bent down to pick it up, intending to shove it into my bag when the car suddenly came to a stop. I looked up and saw a hotel outside the window. My fingers tightened around the contract. “Get out of the car and wait for me in the room.” I didn’t move, my eyes red, hesitant to face what was coming. Darius scoffed. “What? Don’t want to sign the contract now? Don’t want the bonus money?” I forced a bitter smile. How could I not want it? I needed that money—for medical treatment, for my own survival, maybe even for a plot of land where I could rest, far from the pain of my reality. Taking a deep breath, I got out of the car and made my way into the hotel room. As soon as the door clicked shut behind me, Darius shoved me hard against the wall, claiming me in an instant. His frustration from the night before seemed to ignite something in him. His movements were fast and unforgiving, and my body shook from the intensity. I couldn’t stand. I couldn’t breathe. Darius held me close, pressing me against his chest, his lips brushing my ear, his breath hot against my skin. “Look at you... you really are nothing but a fucking slut.”
