"But you didn't, Marcus," I said as I grabbed his hands. "You didn't kill us, Marcus. Nothing happened."
"It might happen again," Marcus said. "Both of you should leave without me. I'll stay here," he added.
"You're not making any sense, Marcus. I don't know the way back. I'm bad with directions. The last time I wound up in Paris, which is more than 100 miles away from Diamond Moon. I'm not leaving without you, Marcus," I said, standing my ground.
"And if you want to go feral again, maybe you should tell us ahead of time."
