Chapter 17 A NEW VICTORIA

VEGA What's happening? Why did it seem like everyone was acting weird today? Seeing how nervous Mr. Graham was around her made her uncomfortable and confused. "Look I'm not a royal okay? I'm just a normal werewolf trying to stand on her own." "Your Highness, I don't think it's proper for you to leave the comfort of your own company." Okay, this isn't funny anymore. "Mr. Graham, can you please be specific about what you are trying to say?" "Your Highness, I know you are the Lycan King's Luna." Mr. Graham finally blurted. Oh, so this was it? How was she to explain that they were mistaking her identity, especially when Victoria made a show at the company? Wait, did this mean the famous model mistook her for Victoria? And what was that about telling her brother about her being at the company? What the fuck! This meant she's the sister of the Lycan king? Hell no, this couldn't be. Why did they always find a way to mess up her life? Why couldn't she have peace? Here she thought she was safe away from them, but they kept finding a way to get into her life. Maybe this time she came to the wrong company? What was she to do now? Possibly go back to her former company? No, that would only mean she's trying to run away from her fears again. Where was the courage she had built up for a year now? She definitely cannot leave. She knew Victoria might not let her be after discovering where she worked, but she wasn't going to run, she would fight for her freedom head on. ****************** Meanwhile, Victoria had gone back home in anger, she was so furious that her secret had been found out by no one else but her sister. The last person she wanted to find out about her secret. Think, think, Victoria! She paced within her room. Victoria thought about what to do to shut her sister up for good without anyone knowing. Just then, Aria walked in on her without knocking. Victoria got startled upon seeing her. As usual, she faked a smile at Aria. "How may I help you, Aria!" Aria, who didn't seem the least bit pleased, walked up to her. "Why are you in All Stars?" She asked, looking very pissed. Victoria, at this point, was confused about what to say. "Uhm, I told you I came to visit you, right?" Aria scoffed at her statement. "Really? If so, then why did you come to see me?" This was it. Victoria became very nervous and sweaty, she knew she had to be meticulous with her choice of words now. Aria was smart, and she would find out eventually about her lies. "Well because we really haven't gotten time to be together, and I really needed to bond with you." This made Aria raise an eyebrow at Victoria. The witch was a goddamn liar, Aria thought. "So you are trying to say you really want to bond with me?" "Yes of course." Victoria said, ushering her to sit on her gigantic-looking bed. Aria smirked, she knew what she was going to do. Since Victoria wanted to play this game, she might as well give her a good show. The next day, Vega did her rounds of training as usual, alone in the hall. She always did her training alone, especially when the other models refused to partner with her, all because Mr. Graham was very close to her. Just as she was practising the runway, Aria walked in. Aria seemed to be very surprised at Victoria, looking at her now, she seemed to be somewhat different from the person she knew at home. And that scent—why did she perceive it only when she saw her in the company? Could it be a perfume? but that wasn't the case because this seemed to be a natural scent. How strange. Vega noticed the presence of someone, and she quickly turned around, only to find Aria watching her, with interest. What now...? She thought. She didn't blame the girl for mistaking her for her sister though because she only just found out yesterday that Victoria and her both had their hair cut short to the same length and the same colours too. Well, it sometimes happened that what she liked were the same things Victoria liked, except the fact that Victoria was greedy, but she wasn't. Maybe it was because they shared the same likeness for some things that be why it was easy for Victoria to steal her mate, she thought. Surprisingly, Vega became very surprised to see the famous model who was known as Little Star applauding for her. Vega was startled to see this. Wasn't it just yesterday that she yelled at her for trying to disrupt her peace? Well, she wasn't ready to start explaining herself about being the twin of the person she thought she was. Besides, she was very sure that Victoria never told her about having a twin, and that was the only reason she mistook her for her sister. "Wow, I never knew you had it in you for modelling." "When I saw you doing the runway, I thought you were someone else." Vega raised a brow at that statement. Just as she had thought, Victoria never told her sister-in-law about having a twin. Who was she then to start talking about being the other woman? "Thank you." She's going to make their conversation as short as possible, so she wouldn't suspect her. Good thing she had the same voice as Victoria. "So does my brother know you preferred modelling for another company?" "Huh? Well, I guess so?" Vega was on edge now, she couldn't answer longer questions to avoid being found out. Not that she feared being discovered by her, but she didn't want any extra person encroaching on her space. "So tell me, Victoria, what made you change your mind about becoming a model?" This was very tough, Vega suddenly became very nervous at her question. "Well modelling had always been my passion, at first, I decided not to pay much attention to it, but you know, I think modelling was what I was born to do, and so I decided to take the bold step." Phew..., Vega very much hoped she didn't say much or give herself away. On the other hand, Aria found everything Victoria was saying extremely strange. Why did she seem like a different person? The Victoria she knew was Someone who never liked working or doing anything, she only liked going to parties and spending a whole lot. Could it be that she had finally realised what she wanted to do, like she had just said? "I want to say you've taken me by surprise; actually, I'm very pleased to know you've finally decided to chase your dreams." Aria said truly happy for Victoria, or so she thought. Knowing Victoria had the same view like she had took her by surprise. Maybe she had been very wrong in judging her badly. That's why it was said to never judge Someone by what you see. If only she had gotten closer to Victoria before now, she would have found out she wasn't as bad as she had expected. Aria watched her some more and even put her through some steps since she had been in the modelling industry way longer than her. Their chemistry was so perfect, seeing how Victoria responded to her nicely, and to top it all, she was a good learner. Aria felt so happy for Victoria for the very first time. When Aria finally left, Vega breathed a sigh of relief. This was getting extremely dangerous, how long was she going to pretend to be her sister for? What if the girl found out? Wouldn't she report the matter to Reynold? Well, she really wasn't concerned about what Reynold would think, they left her no choice. The next day was a weekend, and so she decided to hang out with her friend Sandy. They decided to meet at a famous bar along the street, not far from Vega's neighbourhood. Sandy couldn't help but notice how sad Vega looked, even though she was trying to act all cool. "Hey Vega, tell me what's going on with you lately." "Huh, nothing." Vega lied, not wanting Sandy to be worried about her. "Why does nothing seem to be something to me?" Vega took a quick glance at her friend and smiled. "Don't give me that smile, I know something's wrong. Spill." Vega sighed. She tucked away a strand of hair that was trying to get into her eye. "Well, I think I might be in trouble soon." She said, looking very gloomy. "I'm listening." Vega narrated the story of how her sister found out about the place she was working, and also how she was being mistaken for her sister. "This is crazy," Sandy said. "And messed up," Vega replied. "So, what do you suggest I do?". "I think you should continue with your plan, I'm sure your sister is pretending as well." Yea, right. Why didn't she think of this before now? If they all lived in the same house, then it simply meant Victoria also knew about their pretence. Hmm, interesting. She would patiently wait for Victoria to come back to her because she knew she would be found out in due time. "Lest I forget, I have a little info about your sister's mate." Vega immediately sat up straight in her chair. "What's the catch?" "I think this man help your sister do some dirty jobs." Vega raised a brow at Sandy, seemingly confused. 'What do you mean?" "Remember, you told me about someone stalking you." Vega nodded quickly. "I found out from my investigator about whom the stalker was, and he gave some pictures." Sandy brought out the pictures of the person from her purse and handed them over to Vega. Upon seeing the pictures, Vega gasped in horror. "I don't think you should trust your sister, Vega, she doesn't mean well for you." She had thought about the possibility of her sister sending someone to stalk her, but it surprised her that this person was none other than her mate. Just what did they wish to get from all this? Isn't her mate supposed to be staking his claim over her? How come he's in on her sister's madness? "Have you any information about my sister's mate yet?" "None, as of now, which is very strange." Sandy stared at her friend for some minutes, she's having the feeling that something terrible was going to happen soon. "Vega, I know she's your sister, but please, you have to be cautious of her, trust me." "Don't worry, Sandy, I know what to do." Vega said to her friend, in confidence. She would look for a way to talk some sense into Victoria, she just couldn't watch her sister go through the wrong part of life. She knew sometimes she hated Victoria's guts, but she still wished to keep her mother's promise to always be loving and tolerant to her sister. For their mother's sake, she's willing to help Victoria the best way she could. She thought about their father. Did he know about what Victoria was doing? If he did, then why didn't he try to stop her from trying to destroy herself? Was this the love he claimed to have for her sister? All Vega saw was doom heading for her family, and she had to do something even though they had all lost their senses. Sandy and Vega said their goodbyes and went back to their various apartments. When Vega got to her house, she was shocked to see the one person she had always wanted to find. Victoria parked her car close to Vega's apartment. She wore a wine-coloured jumpsuit, white heels, and sunglasses. Good, even the goddess must be helping her by bringing Victoria to her doorstep.
