CHAPTER SIXTY THREE – BREAKING THE ICE

The crowd gave her a warm ovation. Scarlett beamed, caught up in the joyful energy. "But enough with the mushy stuff!" she said once it died down. "Who wants to hear an embarrassing story about our esteemed Mr. Henry Davies?" The audience roared their approval. Henry put his face in his hands, laughing. "Okay, okay," Scarlett said gleefully. "So there was this one time..." "So there was this one time..." Scarlett began with a mischievous grin. "When Henry thought it would be a great idea to take an important client golfing." The crowd leaned in, eager to hear the juicy story. Henry shook his head in amused dismay. "He spent the whole morning practicing his swing," Scarlett said, miming a golf swing. "Telling anyone who would listen how great he was at golf." A few people snickered, imagining Henry's boastful behavior. "Well, the client shows up and what's the first thing Henry does?" Scarlett raised her eyebrows. "He shanks the ball right into a water hazard!" Roars of laughte
