Chapter 59 : The Moon Goddess Speaks

*April* The stars in the sky seemed to shine brighter than normal and echoed in the lights now covering the trees in the clearing. April was surprised by how many people had gathered around, but mostly she was happy to see her sister was present. Mae still looked a bit anxious as she clung tightly to Henry's hand, but she smiled whenever April caught her eye. April knew she should feel nervous. That was the rational thing to feel, but all she could feel was excitement and hope. She continued to glance regularly at Nathan, who seemed to always be looking at her. Her face felt almost like it was in a constant state of flush. April continued to look around as people gathered, waiting somewhat impatiently for the high priestess to start the ceremony. April stopped cold when she saw her father coming toward her. "Father, what are you doing here?" April asked, trying to keep the fear out of her voice. "Well, I'm honestly surprised you're doing this, April. Y
