The midnight pack
Rayne's POV
It felt like I was in two worlds. While my body felt numb and extremely punctured, my mind felt at ease like I was in the place the tales talked about. The place to adapt rest and serenity—the things I lacked and needed in my life.
Slowly, I came around to my senses, but everything, with the inclusion of my memory, was only a hazy blur. And why on earth is my back attached to something so cold? And so strong? I could have sworn I was tied to a whale if that even makes any sense. I try to shake the uncomfortable feeling away, but it wouldn't disappear. I also tried to move out of whatever was behind me, but then I found out that my movements were restricted and my hands were cuffed around my back. Maybe the cold thing I was feeling against me was the outlet that my hands were cuffed around.
Great, just great.
