My lips were trembling, and I could not get a single word out. Yvette stuffed the umbrella into my hand and then grabbed me to yank me inside.
I cocked my head to one side to look at her. Her side profile looked as if it were chiseled from ice. I could not tell if she was annoyed by my sudden appearance.
She snatched the umbrella out of my hand and tossed it casually in the umbrella stand next to the door.
She then briskly pulled out a dry towel and draped it over me before turning to get the first aid kit. She sat down beside me.
I noticed that Yvette's shoulder was wet. The rain dripped off the corner of her clothes, and I pressed my lips together tightly.
She pulled up the hem of my pajama pants and rolled them up to my knee, exposing the bloody graze on my leg. Her brow furrowed tightly at once, and her voice immediately became lower.
"Tell me why you're here to see me. Are you going to plead with me to remarry you? Weren't you pretty tough before this? You didn't care about
