The car door then closed, shutting out all the noise from outside. I glanced through the window. Even though I couldn't clearly see Yvette's expression, I could sense her disheartened state. Yvette hadn't seen my face because my legs were covered, concealing the torn dress. However, she had clearly noticed my deliberately outstretched hand.
