The commander's gaze became suspicious as his eyes narrowed. “And how precisely do you know this?" he asked, sounding dangerously composed. Jake paused, understanding what he had said too late. An explanation rushed across his head. "I... had a dream," he lied, a little stutter in his voice. “And generally, I noticed my dreams come true” The commander looked at him intently for a considerable amount of time, looking for any indication that Jake was lying. At last, he reclined in his seat and gently released his breath. “Very well” he reluctantly answered, “But know that you will have us wasting valuable time if you are wrong” “Take Lucy with you,” the commander ordered. “You’ll ride together to the camp and see how things are over there. If the missing persons have been found, you’re to remain at the camp, I'll understand that way” “But if not, you’re to return by nightfall. And Jake?” he called with a warning edge. “Keep this assignment discreet. This shouldn’t get t
