CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-EIGHT ROMANCE IN THE AIR
DAPHNE'S POV
“Well, fancy is all well and good, but maybe not when we’re eating with our hands,” I said, still chuckling.
As if to add to the comedy of the situation, a curious squirrel came over and started inspecting our spread. Javion tried to shoo it away, but the little critter was relentless.
“Looks like we have company,” I said, trying not to laugh too hard.
Javion glared at the squirrel. “Shoo! Go away! This is our picnic!”
The squirrel, unimpressed, continued to nibble at the crumbs on the blanket.
In the end, we decided to abandon the fancy food and just enjoy the day. We lay on the blanket, talking and laughing about the ridiculousness of it all.
It wasn’t the perfect picnic we’d planned, but it was perfect in its own way. We’d made the best of the situation, and it turned into one of our favorite memories.
