Chapter Seventy-Two - Chase
I left Willow at my office to speak with her sister.
The wolves told me Lilly came easily, without a fuss. As if she wanted to be found in the woods. It wouldn’t surprise me if she wanted to stick around because of Willow. Or because her pack was gone. There was nothing left of them without Ian.
The pack house was mostly silent when I walked into the lobby. I could hear people eating in the dining hall but there wasn’t a lot of chit-chat.
I didn’t expect a party after the night before but the silence made my wolf sad.
Keith stood on the front steps with his clipboard going down a list of wolves. “Everyone accounted for?’ I asked.
He looked up and nodded. “Yup. There are three wolves in critical condition in the infirmary. One we’re not sure will make it.”
My wolf mourned at the thought of losing a member. Losing one member was just as harmful as many.
“I'll go check on them after I speak with the warriors. Where are the rogues?”
