I froze for a moment. I remembered what Isabella had said that day—Alexander would do anything for her. One phone call, and she could summon him away. I immediately rejected the call and set my phone down. Within two seconds, the phone rang again. I rejected it once more. I knew Isabella wouldn’t give up easily and would keep calling. Without hesitation, I deleted the call logs and turned off Alexander’s phone, placing it back where it had been. Just then, the door opened, and Alexander walked in. He sat down across from me and resumed his meal as if nothing were wrong. After a moment, noticing I hadn’t eaten much, Alexander looked up and asked, “Are you done eating? Would you like to try the dessert here?” “Sure.” I called the waiter over and flipped through the menu, ordering two desserts. The waiter took the menu and left. Suddenly, the door to the private room was pushed open with force. Both Alexander and I looked up, only to realize the person standing in th
