The aroma of simmering chicken broth, laced with the sweetness of carrots and the earthy depth of celery, filled my kitchen. I stirred the pot with a practiced hand, my brows furrowed in concentration.
I don't remember the last time I cooked something like this before. What I do remember is I used to cook this for Lester whenever he had a hangover.
I scooped a bit on my spatula to taste the soup.
