Walk Of Shame
I had no idea where Kieran went.
I left the villa before he returned.
I did my walk of shame under the watchful eye of the moon and got into my car.
I drove with the windows down.
The midnight wind cooled my head.
I realised that I had been using Kieran Valentine as a crutch.
Sleeping with him was my way of coping with the pandemonium that my life had turned into over the past two weeks.
My world was turned upside down, first by Dad’s death, then by Landon and Mom’s double betrayal, followed by Rainey’s ruthless ambush, and then the earth-shattering news that Dad might have been murdered.
Kieran’s bed offered a temporary escape from the clusterfuck that was my life.
But he was an analgesic, not a cure.
After I came down from the high produced by the flood of dopamine, I still had to face reality.
I trudged back to my room at the Blue Jazz.
The lover boy next door had either checked out or was taking a break.
I switched off my phone, curled up in bed and closed my eyes.
Sleep continued
