CHAPTER 14 DARK PAST

Sun was rising and it brightened the classroom a little illuminating the room in a golden hue with shadows stretching across the desks. Jenna was drawing circles on the notebook with her pen as always, doodles that reflected the chaos in her mind. Her thoughts were with him, from the previous night – the softness of his hands, his kiss, the fire in his gaze. A faint smile lingered on her lips; she couldn’t help but think about the tingle that ran through her the last time his lips touched her. It was a feeling she wanted to preserve in a bottle and keep for as long as she can, a ray of light in a house filled with conflicts and the whispers that never left her even at school. Whereas in the morning one gets up with this bright and warm feeling inside, by nightfall that heat gradually starts to disappear, only to be replaced by cold dread.
