Edison smirked, his lips curling with disdain as he watched my panic.
"Joshua, it seems you're not as clever as I thought. I figured you'd piece everything together the moment you heard my voice during the loan process, but I guess I overestimated you."
My body went rigid, and fragments of past events flooded my mind.

All the paperwork had been processed. The bank staff told me the application would take two days to review.
