73 The Plains’ History

Since time immemorial, the plains had respected the Highlanders. This is because the Highlanders were armed with the most modern weapons and were believed to be ruthless when it came to war. They would attack and always retaliate when they were wronged. For that reason, no one wanted to rub shoulders with them for fear of what would follow if they did. As years passed, the aftermath of the war was evident in the plains. The schools had been destroyed and so they started looking for ways they could mend their differences with their neighbors since they were losing more than the Highlanders. With the help of well-wishers, the plains built schools and educated their children hoping that one day they would reap big from academics by having their doctors and lawyers who would defend the land and offer medical solutions instead of relying on Highlanders for everything. But their dream didn't come true as the war destroyed the institutions as well and renovation costs were hefty. T
