“I’m tired.”
Lorenzo nodded. He was too tired to talk. Mia cuddled into his side. She really wanted to ask him what had happened but she knew she wouldn’t be able to sleep tonight either.
It was like a horror movie. You want to watch it and can’t take your eyes off of the screen but there’s this deep rooted fear inside that is waiting for a jump scare. Even the after effects keep playing in your mind, haunting you when you’re trying to sleep.
Mia took a deep breath and calmed her beating heart down.
“Should I ask about it? Or is it better to keep my mouth shut.”
Lorenzo sighed. He pulled Mia closer into him.
It was the first few moments that they got absolute peace and silence. Romeo was sleeping away in his crib. The baby was in the next room over. He had finally started to sleep through the night with only a few breaks in between. It wasn’t the constant screaming and crying that had made Mia and Lorenzo absolutely exhausted.
