Chapter 164: Henry’s Mother
She then rose to greet the guests who had just arrived.
Giselle’s expression froze for a moment before she broke into a smile.
“Once you’ve endured the bitter, the sweet comes easier,” she thought to herself.
She took another sip of her bitter coffee, but this time a surge of warmth flooded through her—courtesy of her grandmother’s love.
As the cafe hummed with increased activity, her grandmother scurried about, attending to patrons. Meanwhile, Giselle took in the scene outside the window: pedestrians chuckling, children playing, and every so often, pigeons slicing through the sky.
Out of the corner of her eye, Giselle spotted a tiny girl, around three or four, aimlessly wandering the street, looking pitifully lost.
Scanning her surroundings, Giselle saw no sign of the girl’s family—apparently separated from them.
Nearby was a busy street—a hazardous spot for such a small child.
Stepping outside the café, Giselle approached the girl, captivated by her striking aquamarine eyes.
