"Nothing"
I stared at the computer screen, my eyes scanning the damage reports pouring in from various departments. Numbers flashed across the monitor — losses, stock dips, client withdrawals — each more alarming than the last. My fingers drummed against the edge of the desk, tension coiling tightly in my chest. I had been here before, in difficult situations, but this felt different. This felt like an attack meant to cripple, and my instincts told me there was a more sinister hand behind it.
I glanced at the email again, the one that had sparked the chaos. A news article, quickly spread across multiple platforms, claiming my company had been involved in a fraudulent deal, accused of manipulating financial records to cover up losses. The piece had been pulled down almost as quickly as it had appeared, but the damage was already done. Clients were calling, shareholders were panicking, and the stock price had taken a hit.
