CHAPTER 21 A POSSIBLE CURE
SABRINA'S POV
With my heart thumping in my chest, I accelerated my pace out of the café. I didn't turn around even though I could hear Missy calling after me in a stern and irate voice. After all that had transpired today, I didn't want to get into another fight right now.
I grabbed inside my bag and fumbled for my phone, my hands shaking a little. I had to go in order to decompress. Breathing in short, sharp spurts, I hailed a cab without thinking. I jumped in and slammed the door behind me as soon as the car reached the curb.
The driver looked at me through the rearview mirror and asked, "Where to?"
"Jared's house," I blurted out without pausing.
After giving the driver the address, I reclined back in my seat and tried to quiet my mind. I looked out the window as the taxi left the café, seeing Missy standing there with her arms crossed and a scowl on her face. A twinge of remorse shot through me, but I ignored it.
