Suppressing her urge to retort, Genevieve explained, "He's my senior. We're just ordinary friends."
She added, "Do you not like him? If so, you should just have him removed from the construction site."
Tristan gave her an enigmatic and cold smile.
Genevieve furrowed her brows. Had she said something wrong?
Tristan moved closer to her and asked softly, "Are you feeling sorry for him, seeing him working so hard on the site?"
Genevieve was dumbfounded. She couldn't quite follow his logic.
"Do you want me to remove him from the site? I won't do what you want. As for you, if you don't do your job well, don't bother coming back tomorrow."
His gaze swept over the broken bricks, his smile light and detached.
Genevieve clenched her fists in frustration but kept her tone respectful. "Don't worry, Mr. Burtman. I'll make sure these bricks are cleared away."
