All the tears were dried up on my face and I sniffled, inside the closed doors of my cabin. My phone rang, dragging me away from my thoughts and it was like that I had summoned him from my thoughts. It was Daniel, my father. The man who was supposed to be my backbone but instead he tried to break mine so that I could rely on him. Willingly on unwillingly. "Hello?" I said, my voice trembling with emotion. "Gracie," Daniel's voice crackled on the other end of the line. "I need to talk to you. I've made a terrible mistake." Gracie, my heart stopped for a moment and everything came to stand still. I could hear my heartbeat. My mind raced as I tried to process his words. A terrible mistake? This was not the Daniel I knew, the man who had always been so confident in his actions, even when they were questionable. I held my breath, waiting for him to continue. "I... I gave Emma your mother’s bracelet," he confessed, his voice filled with remorse. "I shouldn't have done that. It was wrong, and
