Faking Death
Quianna's POV
After that incident, Austin and I head directly to Imperial Hospital. I need to talk to the head doctors there, not to ask what happened with my parents, instead, I need to know my allies to control the board of directors, after all I am now the president of the management. I don't know if I should tell this to Dylan now or just at the day he arrives back here, but I am sure news will immediately reach him.
But on the other thought, I should call Aina. She's a forensic doctor under our hospital and he's father is a close friend of dad, I am sure he will help me especially in convincing the directors to support me. Note to be taken, our hospital has two sides as what rivalries always have. First side is to my grandfather's era wherein the other doctors are still under the close friend of grandpa, they have the highest position in every department of the management of hospital like finance and legal departments. Meanwhile, the other side is my parents', these include head doctors of each department of the hospital itself like surgical department and others.
Now, I am not sure where to begin. Should I talk with the management? or should I talk with doctors itself? Whichever side, I think I should call Aina first.
*Phone calls*
"Hello?" she answered in her sleepy voice. Looks like she performed autopsy until midnight.
"Where are you?" I asked.
"In my office, obviously." She sarcastically answered.
"Come out for a second. I am in front of your building." I said to her.
"Why don't you just enter the building and talk to me?" she said to me and having her tantrums like a child.
"I must not be seen my many. I'll be waiting you here at the car." I said then ended the call.
"Do you think she will help us?" I forgot that Austin is still with me. I, alone dived with my own thoughts.
"I am sure she will." I just answered and saw Aina walking tiredly towards the parking lot. I opened the windows and waved my hands to her.
"Get in." I said to her upon she approached us and get in the car.
"What do you want to talk about?" she asked immediately and looked at the driver's seat, Austin.
"Mom is dead." I said directly and I saw her eyes looked at me in shocked.
"What did you say? What happened?!" she hysterically asked.
"It's a long story but you have first to believe every word I said." I seriously said to her and she just nodded.
"Mom died but her corpse is gone, the same thing with my dad's, right? Now, we both are receiving messages that will happen minutes or seconds after we received one. We are investigating the whole case and I need your help." I continuously said to her, but she did not answer for a while.
"Wait, let me get that straight. First, you two are receiving messages that will eventually happened? Then now, your parents are dead, but the corpse vanished?" she repeated and we both just nods.
"I can't believe this. Am I in a sci-fi movie?" she said in disbelief.
"But you have to believe me. Dylan knew it also but not everything." I said to her, and she looked confused.
"Why did you not ask for his help? And who is that?" she said and looked at Austin.
"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Austin Brown, and I am a detective under criminal's division." He said then handed his call card.
"So, what is your relationship with her?" Aina asked which both of us looked each other.
"Let's just say, a detective-civilian relationship?" I answered.
"Can I trust that relationship? Cause I may fall for you." Aina said and start flirting with Austin.
"Aina, focus, okay? I need your help." I seriously said which makes her fixed her composure.
"What do you want me to do?" she asked seriously.
"We have to make a fake incident." I said then they both looked at me.
"What do you mean?" Austin asked. Yeah, I haven't told him about my plan.
"Aina, I need you to get me a corpse, it'll be better if it has the same fit as mom's. Austin, I am filing a fake report, my mom's death report and you need to close it as an accident. I need to deceive the people at the hospital for me to fully inherit the company." I said to them.
"Alright, it's easy for me to do it, but do you think they will believe it?" Aina asked.
"They will. They went to dad's funeral without knowing that the urn the empty, it'll be an easy trick for them." I answered.
"When will we do this?" Austin asked.
"As soon as possible." I answered.
Three days passed after that conversation of ours and now is the day we will execute the plan. I should call one of the trusted directors of mom just to have a witness for this. In this way, if someone saw the incident, then the other will start believing in it. I am here inside our house, I thought I couldn't enter again, but I guess my parents raised me with strong mentality, as I am sipping my coffee here in the living room where mom died, I am waiting for the director to come. After drinking, I cleaned up everything and start faking the incident. I looked at the corpse near the pool and saying my deepest prayers and apology to her, I did not know that I will commit something like this in my whole life.
*Door rings*
Upon hearing the ring, I immediately pushed the corpse down the pool and start screaming out loud. I can see that the director with his driver enters the house and saw what state I am.
"Mom!!!" I yelled and peeking if the director is coming to my way.
"Quianna! What happened here? Call the police!" the director yelled at his driver and called the police. I tasked Austin that he should be the one who will answer the call and will respond to the report, the signal? Me screaming at mom.
"Mom! What should I do?!!" I yelled enough to hear through the phone.
"Director, I just saw mom after I came home from a vacation. I did know how many hours she's here." I said to him between my sobs and tears.
"The police will be here any moment." Director said and held my shoulders.
"I tried to save her, but I am scared to touch her, I can't do it alone." I said to him.
"Quianna, everything will be okay." He said. The same time as the police entered our house, I saw Austin and he just nod at me secretly. They got rescuers and police which trying to get mom from a 7ft Olympic pool.
"Are you a relative of the victim?" Austin approached us.
"She's the daughter and I am the victim's friend." Director answered to him.
"We need to get your statements at the hospital." Austin said.
"But, what about mom? I can't let her go alone." I said to him.
"Sir, she's dead." The rescuer said and I cried much louder and sadder than before.
"Mom!" I yelled and started crying again. I felt my eyes are starting to get puffy.
"Sir, we need you both at the police station." Austin said and the director helped me to stand up. Austin got me from the director's arms and helped me to walk.
"Aren't you overreacting?" he whispered to me.
"I did not cry that much when I saw mom's death." I answered back.
"But she's not your mom." Austin said.
"From now on, she is." I answered and got inside the police vehicle.
After we arrived at the police station, the director and I got different interrogation rooms and Austin is the one who will interrogate me. He offered me hot coffee as I went down to the pool just to add some spice on it, kidding.
"So, Ms. Quianna Ross, can you tell me what happened?" Austin started to question me.
"I got home a while ago and I just saw mom floating at the pool. Mom loves to swim that is why dad built that Olympic pool for her." I answered.
"Then, in one snap, Mrs. Ross' cause of death is drowning." He just said.
"I don't know. I did not see how it happened."
"Where were you before?" he asked. This guy, we did not talk about this.
"Dylan got my employment on hold as I was in the hospital days ago and he let me have my vacation." I explained.
"Dylan? Do you mean the owner of the Food company you are working on?" he asked and I just nods.
"Were you that close to him?" he asked. I looked at him intently like saying 'what is he talking about?'
"Yes, he's my best friend. Our parents are also close to each other." I answered.
"Do you know where he is right now?" he seriously asked.
"I don't know, he said he's outside the country the day I was discharged." I answered. I can't believe this, I am answering his questions truthfully.
"Is that so?"
"Sir, the autopsy is out." One of the police said and handed him an autopsy.
"The victim is dead 2 to 3 days ago, her head had a deep wound which cause her from falling into that pool. But her major cause of death is drowning." Austin reads the document.
"Also, this was seen at the corpse." The police said and handed a necklace.
"That's mom's." I said and showed her my necklace the same as mom's. I got it when I saw it on the floor that day when mom was killed.
"Testing DNA is not credible as well as the body is near to its decomposition." The police said and Austin just nods and let the officer left.
"Sorry to say this to you, but we'll close the case as drowning accident." Austin said and left the room. I finished drinking my coffee which means next plan is up.
