Chapter 20 A Car Accident

　　Caitlyn's POV 　　The party was a tremendous success, as it led the leaders of the pack to see Talon in a new light. Even those who had previously excluded me from the pack were now treating me with respect due to Talon's influence. 　　"I would've never guessed that the man you hooked up was him," Jayce remarked, approaching me with a glass of champagne in his hand. 　　He turned his head to observe Talon, who was engulfed in the crowd, his eyes displaying a hint of jealousy. 　　"Well, it's all thanks to you." 　　I raised my glass and took a sip, suppressing my emotions. 　　"Don't assume you can take advantage of having Talon on your side. Remember, this is still the Purple Moon Pack, and I'm destined to become the next Alpha of the pack." 　　Jayce didn't seem pleased with my response. He gritted his teeth, attempting to reestablish his authority over me. 　　"Oh? Is that so? That sounds so great." 　　I gave Jayce a perfunctory glance, then stood up and gestured toward Leona, who was nearby.
