Chapter 1 Date With Jayce

Caitlyn's POV My boyfriend Jayce was a werewolf, yes, just like the image that came to your mind. However, he didn't usually run around suddenly on all fours in a quiet forest under a full moon, and he was not like those TV shows with a wolf's head on the top half and a human torso in leggings on the bottom half. Most of the time, he appeared almost human, except for the occasional amber pupil, a bit of extra muscle, some financial stability, a consistent approach to love, and a touch of charisma, but not much more than that. Jayce was destined to become the future Alpha of our Purple Moon Pack. And yes, even though I was a human, I still belonged to a family of werewolves, given that my father was a werewolf. The bond between werewolf and human wasn't as common, but it was still accepted within the pack. We spent five incredibly sweet years together, and just yesterday, he told me he intended to marry me this year and made me the Luna of the pack. "What makes you smile like that?" Jayce asked, dressed in a white suit, exuding an air of dominance and handsomeness. I smiled and playfully tousled the ends of Jayce's hair with my fingers. "I'm really looking forward to tonight, to be honest." "Hmm?" Jayce looked at me with curiosity. "What's so special about tonight?" "That's a secret," I responded mischievously, giggling as I covered my mouth with my fingers. The early fall breeze brushed through the streets of the city, and under the soft glow of streetlights, the night seemed calm and inviting. "This neighborhood is so beautiful," I whispered, my gaze fixed on the architecture and streets before us. "It truly is," Jayce agreed, turning his gaze to me. "But you know what's the most beautiful thing about this city in my eyes? It's the fact that you're here with me." I felt a momentary pause before a wide grin spread across my face. "You always know the right things to say, Jayce. You make me feel like the luckiest person alive." Soon, we arrived at our destination. It was an elegantly adorned French restaurant. The subdued lighting created an atmosphere of delightful ambiguity. "Do you remember when we first met?" Jayce inquired, a smile lighting up his face. "Of course, I remember. It was during a meeting one summer. I remember thinking you were quite the funny guy back then," I said, my eyes narrowing as I recollected that sweltering day. "I was immediately captivated by your smile. From that very moment, I knew you were the one I was going to pursue," Jayce said matter-of-factly. I felt my cheeks redden, and I lightly bit my bottom lip. "You know, I've always secretly liked you too. But it's hard to believe that someone as brilliant as you could fall for someone like me." "What makes you think that?" Jayce asked, a slight frown creasing his brow as seriousness filled his eyes. "I'm only human, and your father..." I began, my voice trembling slightly. Jayce reached across the table, his hand gently enveloping mine. "Don't think that way. You're the nicest person I've ever met. I love your smile, your strength, and the goodness that radiates from you." I nodded gently. "Thank you, Jayce. Your words truly make me happy." Suddenly, Jack produced a box. "This is for you. I hope you'll like it." Jayce gazed at me affectionately, the candle flame on the table casting gentle flickers of light on his face. My heart skipped a beat, its rhythm quickening. "He's not going to propose, is he?" I thought. A surge of nervousness swept over me. Despite my preparations, the prospect of such an occasion still felt overwhelming. I opened the gift box and was surprised to find a delicate diamond ring inside. I opened my mouth wide in astonishment, my expression filled with disbelief. "Am I dreaming? Jayce." "Caitlyn, from the moment I first laid eyes on you, I knew that regardless of what might happen between us, it could never tear us apart. I would always protect you with my life." "Now, will you marry me?" Jayce knelt down on one knee, his eyes filled with profound emotion. Overwhelmed with excitement, I took in the diamond ring, tears welling up in my eyes. I had to cover my mouth as I nodded gently. "Yes, I do." Seeing this touching scene, Jayce's face lit up with a satisfied smile, and the surrounding guests burst into applause. "Jayce, I actually have a gift for you too." After we had taken our seats, I leaned in close to Jayce's ear and whispered. The moment those words left my lips, my face flushed crimson, and I lowered my head with a hint of shyness. Because tonight, I intended to give myself to Jayce as a gift. Jayce immediately grasped the implication, his eyes widening as if to confirm he heard correctly. In the next instant, his body trembled, and he rushed over to embrace me, his hand gently caressing my hair. "Is this... really okay?" "Yes." I responded, my voice as soft as a passing breeze. After dinner, Jayce and I strolled down the street, our hands entwined, eventually stopping in front of a hotel. Bashfully, I nestled into Jayce's arms, allowing him to guide me to the room's spacious bed. Just after closing the door, Jayce pounced on me with the intensity of a male wolf in mating season. He whispered my name, enfolding me in his arms. Gasping for breath, a low murmur of desire escaped his throat. Jayce gently propelled me onto the bed, his strong hands exploring my body like searing brands. He tenderly caressed my breasts, his fingers tracing circles around my hardening nipples. Heat coursed through my body like molten lava, and I couldn't help but moan at the sensation of being enveloped in warmth. I held Jayce's head down on my chest and I was going to use my soft breasts to conquer Jayce's hard body. He sucked greedily on my nipples, like a bee hard at work gathering honey. "Caitlyn, you're beautiful." Jayce licked his lips, and for a moment it was as if I heard the howl of a restless wolf inside him. Jayce lay on top of me, his eyes turning an icy amber color before bit by bit he stripped the clothes off of me. The contact of my bare skin with the air made my body shiver uncontrollably, and I realized what was going to happen next, and my body was ready to accept it. Jayce raised my legs with one hand, his eyes full of desire as he let out a low growl like a wolf and a faint fishy odor filled the air. I closed my eyes, as if marked by a coyote with a mark that belonged solely to him, I became Jayce's prey. He hesitated for a moment, then slowly lowered himself. Jayce's body was also trembling with excitement. My eyes were a little misty, but the remnants of my sanity prevailed in this moment. "Go take a shower first." Hearing my words, Jayce froze for a moment at first, and I clearly felt the disappointment in his eyes, but he stopped moving, then slowly retreated from the bed. Hearing the sound of water coming from the bathroom, my heart couldn't help but beat faster. Just at this time Jayce's cell phone suddenly rang. Almost subconsciously, I picked up Jayce's cell phone, but the cold letters in front of me made me freeze a little for a moment. "Honey, still at that old place tomorrow night, I miss your body." I was a little overwhelmed with Jayce's cell phone, the passion in my heart was instantly doused and I felt like I was slowly falling down around me. "Caitlyn." Jayce stood there, wrapped in a towel, a smile adorning her face, seemingly ready to pounce on me. However, his expression froze for a split second when he spotted the cell phone I held in my hand. "Caitlyn, please. I can explain," Jayce mumbled, scratching her head, an awkward smile playing on her lips. "You know I love only you, and no other woman," Jayce began, "We've sworn an oath to the moon god. But..." He took the phone from me, his words laced with sincerity, yet a newfound restlessness gripped me. Until this moment, I would have blamed my own rashness, but that simple word, "but," left me utterly unsettled. "As a future Alpha, there are certain matters that I don't have complete control over at the moment. This woman is the eldest daughter of the Glorious Moon Pack's Alpha. Her name is Morgana. You saw her at the last gathering. My father wishes for our families to unite forces. Currently, my only approach is to delay and prolong this situation, to make her lose interest in me. Otherwise, a unilateral rejection could potentially trigger a war between our clans." "I'm sorry, but rest assured, you're the only one I'll ever love," Jayce confessed, kneeling on the bed, his face filled with remorse. "I understand, Jayce. I just need some time alone," I said, removing the ring that Jayce had just placed on my finger and setting it gently on the bed. I then began to dress slowly. "Caitlyn, please don't leave me..." Jayce begged. Gazing into Jayce's sincere eyes, I felt an unfamiliar sensation. "Jayce, I'm sorry. I just need some time to think," I said, turning away to leave. As soon as I left the room, I was unable to hold back the tears of anguish that streamed down my face.
