Chapter 66: God's Cruel Joke
Oliver stared coldly at the doctor, his eyes sending a clear warning. The doctor instantly shut his mouth and mimicked zipping his lips. "I know nothing, and I won’t say anything," he assured.
With a final glance, Oliver strode out of the office.
In the hospital’s ninth-floor lobby, Oliver spotted Alison sitting in the crowd, waiting for her examination. He walked straight to her and spoke in a calm voice.
"Michael Ayles is dead. He got into a fight in prison and was beaten to death. No one will ever hurt you again."
Alison turned her head to look at Oliver. "Uncle Oliver, what difference does it make now? Does his death erase the damage he caused? Or are you saying I’m the way I am today just because of Michael Ayles?"
