CHAPTER 13: UNRECOGNIZABLE

ERIC'S POV Walking inside the hall, I could see how everyone was extremely happy, getting into different conversations. I went to find myself a seat. But sitting down, I noticed how this lady was just staring at me. I turned my face away several times. But with just a glance at her, I had to realize that she couldn't take her eyes off me. I felt uneasy about this. It was kind of strange. Anyway, I couldn't keep giving her my attention. This party was actually a nice one. It had to be one of the best I had seen so far. It was being thrown by the Darlingtons, a wealthy family. They were the owners of Determix, a notable and remarkable company in New England. I was invited by one of their workers, whom I was good friends with. I was told that the daughter of the family would be the one taking over the company.  And the most crazy part? She was the third and last child. There were clearly two sons before her. I had no idea why Mr. Darlington would go ahead and make such a decision.
