CHAPTER THIRTY FOUR A SUDDEN TWIST

JADE’S POV "Do you expect me to eat all this?" After five minutes of eating and drinking, I ask what he's been putting on the tray before me. "Why wouldn't you?" He asks, putting a plate of sliced fruit on the tray, and I groan internally, "Because it'll kill me even faster than the river." I add a murmur and look up to see him staring at me like he wants to say something, but he pokes his tongue into his cheek and remains silent. I internally sigh in relief because I'm not ready to have that conversation with anyone, especially with him. He stares for a moment longer before standing and taking everything out. I watch silently, a little grateful that he's doing this for me before that doubtful and negative voice that haunts me whenever I'm around him starts infiltrating my mind.
