CHAPTER 22 CRAZY

JADE’S POV “Thank you so much but I need to-” I start trying to open the door but as I expected, it’s already locked. “Repeat yourself” he says when we pull over in front of the company and suddenly his voice goes back to sounding eerily calm and dangerous. “I have an appointment with a superior” I whisper trying to find my voice and he nods thoughtfully. “Okay then, you can go” he responds mechanically after a moment as he unlocks the door and I turn to face him not sure of why I’m even doing this but also feeling like I have to. “It’s not what you might think it is, we’re actually just-” I start trying to explain myself before he cuts me off by coming too close for comfort. He doesn’t even glance at me as he leans in to open the car door and he moves away immediately it’s done. “It’s fine, you can go” he repeats drumming his fingers on the steering in probably what I think is impatience and I look at him, “Mr. Mil-”, “don’t call me that!” He replies harshly as he cuts me off
