CHAPTER 13 DELIVERY

JADE’S POV Working here so far has been excellent, besides the usual hostile behavior from some of the girls in Leslie's squad. Why do they dislike me so much? I'm still determining since I've not worked here long enough to be considered a serious competitor. Leslie is a typical people-pleaser who is, of course, only respectful and friendly to the higher-ups. I'm surprised no one has put her in check before, but if the rumors about her sleeping with some of our superiors to gain their favor are true, then it wouldn't be so puzzling to me. I've been trying to constantly avoid them since giving them the time of day by responding to their naughty looks, and backhanded compliments would only make things more difficult for me. I'm not the type to shy away from a fight, but at this point, I'm just trying to live as peacefully as possible, and I can only do that by not testing my creator.
